IC2501; PK281-05.109:38.8-60 05Planetary Nebula11.425"4.2KLYApr 30 2005Cordeaux 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian32mmSWA to 6mmWALumicon UHCSpent a lot of time on this object. Very hard to make out. Faint object in the right position - in a spectacular field of stars. Appeared to vary a bit to the eye as many planetary nebulae do. Filter didn't help.

NGC251607:58.3-60 52Open Cluster3.830'1.3KLYMarch 26 2001Farmborough Heights 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian26mmPlosslVisible naked eye, even here in the suburbs. Large, relatively rich, main mass about 30' across. Bright orange field star on the N-edge, and a similarly coloured star within the S half of the cluster. In the SE corner is a equal component binary, with a fainter red star nearby that could be part of a multiple system. [This possible system is fainter than the mag 6 binary shown on the Sky Atlas Chart 25, which takes higher magnification to resolve well].

NGC332410:37.3-58 38Open Cluster6.76.010.8KLYJune 27 1998Mt Keira 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian26mm PlosslIn the same field as NGC3293. Shaped like the number '6' with the curve pointing toward NGC3293, and about the same size as that nearby cluster.
NGC3324""Nebulosity with cluster16' x 14'"May 3 2003Jerrara Dam 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian26mm PlosslLumicon UHCLarge, round. Field star on one edge.

NGC 3372 Eta Carinae Nebula10:43.8-59 52Emission Nebula120' x 120'6KLYJune 27 1998Mt Keira 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian26mm PlosslI noted on the night only that it was 'superb'.
NGC 3372 Eta Carinae Region10:43.8-59 52Emission Nebula120' x 120'6KLYJan 5 2003Wiruna 250mm f5.6 Dobsonian32mmSWA; 13.8mmSWAUHCFantastic with the 32mm. With the 13.8mm and the UHC filter the nebulosity is absoluely superb. Especially remarkable is the Eta Carina 'eye' embedded in the 'head' and fish-shaped nebula stretching beyond it. Dark lanes near the star itself are amazing also.
NGC 3372 Eta Carinae Region10:43.8-59 52Emission Nebula120' x 120'6KLYJune 14 2018 Culburra 400mm f4.5 Dobsonian30mmUWA; 8-42mmZoomUHCThe 30mm eyepiece gives 60x and a field of 1.3 degrees. Even then the nebula complex over-fills the field. Yellow eta-Carina sits in the brightest tear-drop shaped part of the complex with fainter swathes of nebula fanning away from it. Also large dark areas. With the UHC the nebula becomes amazingly bright while eta-Carina turns red and point-like. Using the 24-8mm zoom eyepiece [no filter] the lobes of eta-Carina become more visible as magnification increases.
NGC3532 11:06.4-58 40Open Cluster3.055'1.3KLYJune 27 1998Mt Keira250mm f5.6 Dobsonian26mm PlosslVery large very rich cluster. Double-headed curved dark arrow visible: one of two red field stars about half way along it. Easily visible naked-eye.
NGC 357611:11.5-61 22Emission Nebula3'x3'April 14 2007Belanglo 200mm f5.6 Dobsonian13.8mmSWAUHCThis is part of a nebula complex and is the largest so was able to pick it. Beautiful field of bright nebula but hard to distinguish each separate object.
NGC 360311:15.4-61 15Emission Nebula9.112'April 14 2007Belanglo 200mm f5.6 Dobsonian13.8mmSWAUHCVery large nebula in the same field as the complex around NGC3576.
